Sweet Potato Wedges

I keep realizing that I am fairly inept in the kitchen. I am a spoiled ‘adult’ still living at home and eating delicious parent-prepared meals. I’m hoping there will be a dramatic and positive improvement in my cooking skills as soon as I move out, as otherwise I’ll be eating a lot of stir-frys.

Robert and Megan mentioned a cooking blog that they love, Smitten Kitchen. I decided I’d give it a browse and tonight I prepared my first Smitten Kitchen dish – ‘Spicy Sweet Potato Wedges‘. I ended up slicing the potato differently as my grocery store only offered them in either large or absolutely gigantic sizes. But overall, they turned out quite well. They also received parental approval, meaning I will likely be required to make them again. I’m not entirely convinced on ‘fennel’ as a ingredient, as I could taste it more then I had anticipated, but it wasn’t overwhelming. Definitely a dish that will stick around.Sweet Potato Fries

This is how Smitten Kitchen’s wedges turned out – mine didn’t look quite as pretty, but almost?
