Babi P

I visited Babi P (my grandma) to pick up our share of the traditional Czech ‘Easter Eggs’.  They’re more like really amazing cookies, and each person in the family only gets about 4 a year.  We actually all count how many we’ve had to make sure we get the same amount.  Every year I tell myself that next year I need to spend time with Babi and learn the recipe.  Every year Easter comes and goes and I’m not any closer to knowing.  I also want her to teach me how to make cake.  Growing up I always looked forward to “Grandma-made” cake.  She would make me chocolate, and my brother got strawberry.  I’m not sure why, but she stopped making cakes, and I miss them.

Babi’s house is filled with plants of a wide green variety, and this time the tree by the front window was blooming.  She’s always excited to show people her flowers.  And I enjoyed taking pictures of them.
