I’m discovering that summer is a busy busy time. Last weekend I spent my time volunteering/sun bathing at the Mountain View Music Festival in Carstairs. We camped in the “tent city” – also known as baseball diamond #4, and we brushed our teeth in a random electronics store and a pub. Basically, we took advantage of running water whenever we could find it. This town of about 2700 people managed to host a pretty wicked festival, and it was a joy to be a part of it. Kudos to The Polyjesters for their amazing musical talent, and their ability to bring together and build a sense of community.

I might actually be music fest’d out. By the end of Sunday night I was exhausted, and I’m starting to think I need a weekend off from all this excitement!

I spent my August long weekend on an amazing backpacking trip with amazing friends! Myself and 3 girl friends hiked to Lillian Lake where we spent two nights. While in the area we hiked further and explored Galatea Lakes, and Guinn’s Pass. In total we did about 30km, and the peak we reached was at an elevation of 2606m. Everything was beautiful. Today only my left half is sore, and my numerous mosquito bites are itching in rotation. Next time, more bug spray.
