			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;">What was meant to be a full fledged hike somehow turned into touring a beautiful, $1.85 million house, and a beer at the Grizzly Paw in Canmore.  The day was made complete by a spontaneous bonfire in my backyard &#8211; I&#8217;m not sure why I haven&#8217;t had more over the summer, but they are great.  I plan to make up for lost bonfire time in the next month.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;">On our hike in Canmore we spent some time admiring the numerous climbers.  Watching them filled with me a combination of awe, and a large desire to join in.  Then I realized that even though I don&#8217;t dislike heights, I don&#8217;t really like them either.  There&#8217;s something discomforting about not being on solid ground.  But I have the shoes, and the chalk, so maybe I&#8217;ll overcome my minor fear.  Or maybe I&#8217;ll just take on bouldering&#8230;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;">During the May long weekend I enjoyed a beautiful day hike near Canmore.  Grassi Lakes was a great way to start off the spring season.  It was just difficult enough to feel accomplishment at the top, without being overwhelming.  This is my favourite photo from the hike: the amazing intensity of the turquoise combined with the ripple texture that the wind caused on the surface is astounding.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Lately I&#8217;ve been really enjoying the freedom that not being in school and instead having a M-F job provides.  There&#8217;s something great about having a solid two days off, and not having to worry about studying or writing an essay.  There&#8217;s also something great about having a steady income.</p>
<p>The other weekend I took advantage of this freedom and spent the afternoon in Canmore with Andrea.  I enjoyed seeing the mountains up close, breathing in the fresh air, and generally the feeling of getting away from the bustle of the city for an afternoon.  We had a leisurely walk and chat along the river, followed by dinner which included some of the best ginger beer I&#8217;ve had.</p>
