Purse Creation

I had a sudden flurry of creativity last weekend and finally sewed this purse together. I had purchased the fabric and cut out all the pieces over Christmas, and they had been waiting for me to return. It turned out to be much larger than I had expected, and I should’ve put interfacing on the top piece of leather but didn’t so it’s not quite perfect. Still quite fun, it’s likely to get a lot of use over the summer.

Glass Art

Last week Kai invited me to try out my hand at glass art. Overall, it was a very fun experience and I only burned my right hand twice. Thankfully, my instinctive reactions seem to be intact as the burns are quite minor. I had a larger part in creating the paper-weight and I’m quite pleased with how it turned out. I plan on using it frequently in my sewing as the weights my mom has aren’t heavy enough for cutting around patterns. The vase was mostly Kai, though I helped blow to give it the vase-shape. Definitely much harder than Ryan from Bee Kingdom made it look during the demo a couple weeks ago. Not entirely convinced that glass art is for me, but it was definitely interesting to try it out.
