Fun thing to take photos of: Gifted Lilies.

They are very convenient! They are happy to stay still while you take a gazillion photos (yes, a gazillion plus one, in fact), or move when you’d like to try a different angle or different lighting. It’s perfect!

I was whizzing through these photos with my mom, and all she said was, “Why did you take all of them against the light?!”

Well Mom, I guess I thought it looked cool…

Leaving for a hotter climate

Today I am leaving for Vegas for a week. I’m going to absorb vitamin D, shoot as many photos as possible, and generally enjoy the relaxation that comes with being in a different city. It seems the trip was well timed, as today Calgary is expecting snow. Goodbye snow, hello +30°C and sunshine!

Sarah and I spent the evening putzing around the yard. Our landlord has kindly mowed our lawn for us, we’ve admired the flowers and leaves, and Sarah is preparing to plant her garden tomorrow. We also discovered most awesome lounge chairs, and I have already enjoyed it while reading, listening to the river, and absorbing the feel of spring.

Accessorize in Pink

The 9th Prairie Lindy Exchange (PLEX) has a theme, Plex and the City, which somehow has translated into ‘pink’. The ladies and I spent some time glue gunning obnoxiously pink flowers to hair clips (for the follows) and pins (boutonnieres for the leads). My fingers are slightly scalded, as learning to not touch hot glue seemed to be a slow curve.

This one is my favourite (and it happens to be the one I saved for myself).
