The weather was beautiful, the company enjoyable, and the view at the top was worth it. Sadly, there was a bit of an adventure on the way down. Our fellow hiker and dog companion Lola injured her feet on the rocks resulting in some sock and mitt booties, and a well crafted stretcher for the rocky portion of the decline. Lola is doing much better after some well deserved rest, and Dad’s birthday will definitely be memorable.

The other weekend I took advantage of this freedom and spent the afternoon in Canmore with Andrea.  I enjoyed seeing the mountains up close, breathing in the fresh air, and generally the feeling of getting away from the bustle of the city for an afternoon.  We had a leisurely walk and chat along the river, followed by dinner which included some of the best ginger beer I’ve had.
