Slowly but surely I am settling into my new office. I’m hoping my office isn’t too warm and sunny for Junior, who has been with me for years now. So far he’s the only real addition that makes this space feel like mine. I have plans for a cool calendar, maybe some vinyl toys or a clock. The greenery is a good start.

Back to work this week, and the transition has been a little difficult. I’m struggling to remember everyone’s names and rediscover my groove within the office. Classes start tomorrow for the students, and I’m hoping that means I’ll get to meet some of the students I’ll be working with.

This photo received a compliment on its ‘bokeh‘. Such a cool word, and the effect fascinates me.

Desktop

After a week of looking at the ugly blue default desktop on my computer, I finally changed it to one of my favourite photos today. Everytime I’ve minized all the open windows, this photo has made me smile :) The rest of my office is still lacking character, but it’ll come with time.

Lens Update: Nikon has decided that the injuries have been caused by jarring and jostling, and therefore the repairs are not covered under warranty. As the repairs would have cost $104, and a brand new lens of the same kind only costs $120, I have decided it’s not worth it. It’s $100 that I will invest into a better quality lens instead.
