Spiral

I have had an interest in spirals since my trip to New Zealand where I was introduced to the Koru, a symbol I still feel connected with. This “unfurling fern frond, symbolizing new life, growth, strength and peace,” is a a part of my bedroom decor, as I have a large print of a photo I took of one. While admiring the greenery in my yard (can you tell I’m excited it’s spring? excited for the green?) I noticed that the leaves on the rose bush unfurl in a similar way, spiraling out from the centre. Lovely.

They Survived!

With a great amount of faith, Sarah trusted me with her baby plants while she enjoyed her time by a pool in a warmer climate. I am proud to report, that all of them survived! I’ve been checking on them daily to make sure they’re moist, and I think some of them even grew during my tender loving care. Thankfully, I am now able to pass this serious responsibility back to her, and can breathe easy.

Oregano

Lisa gifted us one of the cutest housewarming gifts, a mini ‘Friendship Garden’ (from Seracon) with oregano as the plant. It came with everything needed to grow oregano from the start; a mini pot (only about the diameter of a twoonie!), some soil, and of course the seeds. I planted the seeds a few weeks ago, and slowly but surely it’s starting to grow! It seems as though all creatures, including plants, are super cute when they’re little.

Junior

Slowly but surely I am settling into my new office. I’m hoping my office isn’t too warm and sunny for Junior, who has been with me for years now. So far he’s the only real addition that makes this space feel like mine. I have plans for a cool calendar, maybe some vinyl toys or a clock. The greenery is a good start.
